"For some moments in life, there are no words," said the great Willy Wonka. And that's where our story began.
In 2012 Delilah worked as an intern at a production company, and her internship led her to Quaker Ridge Elementary School.
Enter Nicole Jaye Prince.
Leading the show, Nicole's performance as Willy Wonka is still raved about in the Scarsdale Inquirer. Nicole's radiance and maturity allowed her and Delilah to bond, ultimately leading Nicole to suggest that Delilah should meet her sister.
Cut to the next day, Delilah Rose Chamlin enters the 3rd floor hallway of Scarsdale High School. Enter Sydney Helen Prince.
"Hi, I know your sister and she said I should introduce myself to you. You know Debi from Applause, and so do I! Let's hangout sometime."
And so they did... leading to countless car rides, village manicures, Broadway sing-a-longs without a care in the world, and the start of a powerful invisible string.
College was, well, college. We each grew in our own ways, becoming the women we always knew we could be. Sydney dedicated her 3.75 years (thank you, COVID-19) at the University of Michigan to studying theatre and film. Delilah thrived as sorority President at Binghamton University - State University of New York, and then took her talents to law school to completely live out her Legally Blonde dream.
Note to audience: Delilah was blonde-ish for a moment. Not great.
Graduations came and went, and so did a massive global pandemic. For details to be provided via personal appointment, Sydney and Delilah managed to reconnect.
A slow summer of weaseling our way back into one another's lives reminded us each how magnetic our connection once was and brought about the question of "what could be?"
Intermission.
Our relationship has grown tremendously since August 18, 2021. Sydney has worked on over 60 shows, and Delilah has completed a clerkship and now has a Park Avenue office at a firm she loves.
We've built a home together, often staying up way later than anticipated to redecorate, debrief shared podcasts, and watch our favorite Disney movies for the 1,000th time.
Enter Pippin Aldywych Prince III. There will be no questions accepted regarding his naming. Do not even try. Yes, I am talking to you oh curious reader.
Pip has brought us endless joy and increasing frustration targeted at stained rugs. However, we happily share our pillow with him every night and we clearly love him more than words can emulate.
One thing led to another and March 8, 2025 rolled around. It was a crystal clear day. A trip out to Long Beach became the perfect place for Delilah to ask Sydney to spend forever together.
Since that day, Sydney has also proposed to Delilah and the planning has begun. We cannot wait to not only continue our love story, but to celebrate and commemorate it with all of you!
With love in always and all ways,
Sydney & Delilah
